Our workmanship standards

   Strong rail-to-post fixing

   We use 14 gauge 125mm bugle head galvanised screws as our default for fixing rails to posts. This provides a strong, long-lasting connection that will not work loose over time.

   Accurate transparent detailed quotes

   Our quotes break down materials, labour, and any additional work so you know exactly what you are paying for. No hidden costs or surprises.

   Level top line

   Unless your ground is sloping and you prefer a skewed fence, we ensure the top line of your fence is level for a professional finished appearance.

   Staggered joins in rails

   We stagger rail joins at different posts rather than joining them all at the same post. This avoids creating a weak point in your fence structure.

   Maximum 2.4m spacing between posts

   Where possible, we space posts at approximately 2.4 metres or less. This provides adequate support and prevents sagging over time.

   Posts concreted in

   We set posts in concrete for straightness and sturdiness. This ensures your fence stays upright and secure for years to come.

7. 7

   57mm full circle head ring shank nails for palings

   We use quality ring shank nails to fix palings to rails. These nails resist pulling out and provide a secure, long-lasting hold.

8. 8

   25mm overlap on standard lapped paling fences

   For lapped paling fences, we maintain a consistent 25mm overlap between palings. This provides good coverage and a uniform appearance.

9. 9

   Approximately 50mm ground clearance

   We maintain approximately 50mm clearance between palings and the ground. Palings are H3 treated for above-ground use, while posts are H4 treated for ground contact.
